ABOUT US
Based in Chengaroor, Mallappally, MSMTC was established in 1995 and has over the past fifteen years trained vast number of teacher trainees from different parts of Kerala. The nearest Railway station and town to the College is Thiruvalla which is about 12 Km from here. The college prides itself on the quality of its courses and provides individual attention to students. The Institution has successfully completed its 14th batch of B.Ed Course and the M. Ed Course has been started functioning since 2005. The College has an intake of 130 students for the B.Ed Course distributed in the following optionals - English, Malayalam, Mathematics, Natural Science, Physical Science and Social Science. The strength for M. Ed course is 20 distributed in English, Science and Social Science optionals. The College is a Self-Financing institution run by the Malankara Catholic Archdiocese of Thiruvalla

Aboon Mar Severios Educational Seminar 2008 (AMSES 2008)
Major breakthrough of the academic year was Aboon Mar Severios Educational Seminar (AMSES 2008), conducted on 05th December 2008. The theme of this year AMSES was “IT Tactics for Teaching and Learning”. Seminars organized on that day included areas of ‘including IT in curriculum and IT tactics in Education’. Fr. Dr. Abraham Mulamoottil, Principal, MACFAST, Tiruvalla; Mr. Kabir B. Haroon, National Trainer for HRD; Dr. Sajeeth Ninan Philip, HOD of Physics, St. Thomas College, Kozhencherry and Mr. Tiji Thomas, HOD, MCA Department, MACFAST, Tiruvalla delivered talks on different subjects. Teacher Educators from different Teacher Training Colleges participated in the seminar.
EDUCITY Inaugurated
Mar Severios College of Teacher Education of the Archdiocese of Tiruvalla with the academic experience and excellence of last 14 years emerged as one of the leading Teacher Education institutions in Kerala. The College currently offers both B.Ed. and M.Ed. courses. As a souvenir of the Platinum Jubilee of the Archdiocese of Tiruvalla, Mar Severios Educity was inaugurated on 04-12-08 by Dr. P. J. Jacob (Member, Syndicate, Dean, Faculty of Education, Professor and Director, School of Pedagogical Sciences, M. G. University, Kottayam) in the presence of His Grace Most. Rev. Dr. Thomas Mar Koorilos, Metropolitan Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Tiruvalla.
B. Ed. Degree Examination Result 2007-08
The result for the academic year 2007-08 is as follows.
Distinction - 1, First Class - 88, Second Class – 30 and Third Class – 1
Pass percentage - 93%.
M. Ed. Classes started
The classes for the 4th Batch of M. Ed. Degree Course commenced on 23-03-2009. The Course was formally inaugurated by Fr. Dr. Abraham Mulamoottil, Principal, MACFAST, Tiruvalla. Fr. Dr. Sheby Kozhiadiyil, Manager, Mar Severios College of Teacher Education and Mrs. Santhi S. Rajan, Principal, Mar Severios College of Teacher Education were present at the occasion.
SERAF – 09 (Severios Educational Research Analysis Forum)
The M. Ed. Department of Mar Severios College of Teacher Education conducted SERAF – 09 (Severios Educational Research Analysis Forum - 09) for the M. Ed. Students of different colleges coming under Mahatma Gandhi University. SERAF-09 was formally inaugurated by Dr. Rajan Verughese, Hon. Pro-Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University on 04th July 2009 in the presence of His Grace Most Rev. Dr. Thomas Mar Koorilos, Metropolitan Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Tiruvalla and the Patron of the College. Dr. Ashok Alex Philip, Principal, Peet Memorial Training College, Mavelikara presented Ph. D. Thesis. Fr. Dr. Sheby Kozhiyadiyil, Manager, and Mrs. Santhi S. Rajan, Principal, were present at the occasion. The forum proposes to conduct SERAF in each semester of M. Ed. Course. SERAF invites Eminent Research Scholars and Educationalists to expose their Ph. D. theses, in order to create Research aptitude among M. Ed. Students and to open up new vistas in the field of Educational Research.
